Faithless

Girl worshipping on beachA new poll commissioned by the British Library has found that 43% of teenagers have described themselves as having 'no religion or faith'.  The research, conducted by MORI, asked people of all ages about their faith, and appeared to reveal a direct correllation between age and levels of faith.

Those at later stages in life were more likely to profess faith, with 20% of those aged in their twenties indicating they had no faith, and only 8% of those over 65 saying the same. Overall, 21% of respondents said they had no faith.

Christianity was by far the most widely followed religion, with 65% choosing to follow Jesus, with Islam the second most popular at 4%.

What does this say to you? Does it match up with what you see at school, or is your situation different? Is it easier to believe as you get older or are we just stopping beliving? Have your say...
